Boot Camp

A full body workout that will “blast” calories and challenge your muscles with a mix of calisthenics and strength training. Great class for all fitness levels.

Beam

Beam is a safe, sensible exercise system using a floor mat and a Beam that will work your core in a standing, kneeling, sitting or lying down position, improve overall core strength and stability, firm and tone most muscle groups and improve balance.

Cycle Zen (75 minutes)

The dynamic duo: Cycle and Yoga. You start with 45 minutes of intense cycling to boost cardio endurance then transition to 30 minutes of Yoga poses to balance upper and lower body and soothe those cycling muscles. Please bring a water bottle, towel and yoga mat.

FitZone Express

A 30 minute time based workout that will get your heart pumping, muscles burning and sweat dripping all by lifting weights faster. No choreography involved.

Flow Yoga

Linking movements with breath to increase balance, flexibility and strength for an energizing workout. Modifications made for beginners and options given for more advanced students.

High Intensity Body Blast

Experience a total body workout utilizing resistance & cardio intervals designed to burn fat and sculpt your body into a lean mean machine! Build your endurance and have fun all at the same time.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative Yoga is the yoga of deep, aware relaxation. This yoga class allows your muscles to utterly relax and melt into place instead of stretching and straining into position. As your body finds the shape of the posture and melts into place, your nervous system switches to calmness and a deep inner relaxation mode. For stressed out modern day living, this is a beautiful way to round out the work week.

Tabata Row

High‐intensity circuit training class that produces remarkable results in both aerobic and anaerobic capacity using the Water Rower, weights, bands and body bars. You will perform intervals of 20 seconds of intense work followed by 10 seconds of rest. You will feel the burn! Class will end with a cool down and stretch.

The Skinny Jean Workout

Feel great and rock your favorite pair of jeans. Mold your body into a healthy and aligned physique, with elongated, well‐toned muscles. Attain core strength and the calm and grace of a ballerina!

Yoga Fusion

A great combination of Flow movement, core strengthening and stretching. All levels welcome

This is a favorite with my clients. I know deep down they would sometimes prefer a pop-tart, but most times, they humor me by starting their day with this tasty source of complex carbohydrates, protein and good-for-you fats!
Preheat Oven to 400.
In skillet on Med-high heat, toast the walnuts for about 4 minutes.
In large bowl, combine all ingredients except for the dried fruit. Mix well. Layer granola on cookie sheet. (It is important to keep granola in single layer.)
Bake for about 10 minutes.
Gently stir granola on pan.
Bake for another 10-12 until golden.
Fold chopped fruit into granola. Cool completely. Store in airtight container.
Delicious with yogurt!
  • 6 cups of organic rolled oats (not quick oats!)
  • ¼ cup of raw almonds
  • ¼ cup of raw pecans
  • ¼ cup of toasted walnuts
  • 1 Tablespoon of Saigon Cinnamon
  • 1 Tablespoon of unsweetened coconut (shredded)
  • ¼ of Flax Seed
  • ¼ to ½ Cup of Organic Raw Honey
  • ¼ to ½ Cup of Raw Maple Syrup
  • Dash of Kosher Salt
  • Dried Organic Fruit (chopped)
In a shallow dish or pie plate, coat with one T of E.V.O.O.   Cover bottom of dish with goat cheese.  Thinly slice mozzarella and layer over goat cheese.  Top with tomatoes and olives.  Sprinkle with capers.
Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes or until bubbly.
Drizzle with additional E.V.O.O., balsamic vinegar and basil.
Serve with melba toast, Italian breadsticks or hot, crusty Italian bread.
  • 8 oz of Goat Cheese (sliced or crumbled)
  • 2-3 oz of fresh mozzarella cheese
  • 10-15 Grape Tomatoes, sliced in halves
  • Extra-Virgin Olive Oil
  • Pitted, chopped Kalamata Olives
  • 1 teaspoon of capers
  • Balsamic Vinegar
  • Fresh Basil, chopped
Hanover County, Virginia is famous for its gorgeous summer tomato! I make this dish (one of my mother’s favorites) all summer long. If you can’t use a fresh, local tomato, try Campari Tomatoes or boxed Pomi Tomatoes.
Plunge tomatoes in pot of boiling water for about 60 seconds. Transfer tomatoes with slotted spoon to bowl of ice water.
Peel tomatoes and place in food processor.
Add remaining ingredients except for Pine nuts and capers.
Blend on low, gently chopping the tomatoes and mixing with Olive Oil mixture.
Stir in pine nuts and capers after sauce is well blended.
Serve over freshly cooked Angel Hair.
Note: I sometimes will have a small bowl of chopped kalamata olives at the table for those who would like to add to their pasta.
  • 6 very ripe tomatoes
  • ½ cup virgin olive oil
  • 1 t garlic
  • ½ onion
  • 1 handful of Fresh basil and ½ handful of fresh parsley
  • Salt & Pepper
  • 2 T Pine nuts
  • 1 T capers
  • Freshly grated Parmesan or Asiago Cheese for topping

Location

LHF has been a part of my life since it opened in 2010. As a result of consistently working with the trainers at LHF I have been able to combine diet and exercise resulting in weight loss of over 40 pounds, a 5 inch reduction in the waist and significant reduction in cholesterol and blood pressure.  All the fitness professionals there are inspiring, creative and fun and working with Leah and her staff gave me the confidence to try new things, push though the tough exercises, and celebrate success all without judging my weak moments.
